Change your Two-Factor method in Office 365
Applying Two-Factor sign in protection to your Office 365 account is one of the most effective means of securing your account from hackers. But what do you do when you change phone number, assign an account to another person, or repurpose office-wide usage.
Log into your Office 365 account at any Microsoft web interface, such as https://portal.office.com or https://outlook.office.com etc. Click your account initials at the top right of screen, then choose “View account.” Under “Security info” click “Update Info.”
If you are changing phone number, select “Change” next to the one you need to change, then follow the prompts. If you want to use the office number so anyone in the office can authenticate, choose “Call me” and enter the office number instead.
You may also add a different method of authentication like the Microsoft Authenticator app. Click “Add sign-in method” and follow the prompts. Authenticator apps work on a “seed” which is the QR Code shown during setup. More than one person can scan this QR Code (during setup only) and can authenticate from their own apps.
